Histotech - Mohs Surgery

Job Summary: A Histotech is responsible for preparing, processing and maintaining records of histologic specimens within the Mohs Surgery department. The Histotech follows Madison Medical specific standards of practice, policies and procedures. This pool (as needed) position reports to the Clinic Supervisor/Assistant Director of Clinic Operations, is within the Mohs Surgery Specialty, and is located in Waukesha, WI.

What You’ll Do:

  • Process tissue specimens for histologic examination.
  • Preparing and staining microscopic slides for subsequent evaluation by the pathologist.
  • Assist during surgical pathology consultation by preparing frozen tissue sections.
  • Perform all lab competencies and proficiency testing to maintain CLIA standards.
  • Perform Mohs procedures and IHC.



Key Qualifications & Characteristics

  • Histotech Licensure/Certification
  • Associate Degree or higher, or
  • Histology experience, or
  • HT(ASCP) or AAB certification
